Before getting started you’ll need…

  1. Your Coherent card machine
  2. Wi-Fi connection
  3. Access to a charging point, ideally a wall socket
  4. Your Coherent login credentials - an email and password shared with you when you completed your compliance/KYB forms

Step 1: unpack & charge

Your Coherent card machine includes a charging cable, a wall charging point, and the card machine itself. Remove all parts from packaging, assemble, and plug into a wall socket to charge. Pro tip: leave the card machine charging for a few hours before continuing setup.

A small red light will appear when charging, followed by a white light which will display on the right side of the machine when it is charging.

Step 2: turn on & connect to Wi-Fi

Press the power button on the right side of the machine until you see the home screen appear. Thereafter, select settings and connect to Wi-Fi. The password to access your network settings is 8594.

Step 3: log in and activate

Note: it may take up to ~60 minutes for the Coherent application to install. During this time your device will update to ensure the latest software is active.

  1. Select the happy elephant at the top of left of the home screen. If you see a large X appear, double tap the screen, rather than single tap.

  2. Enter your Coherent login credentials (the same email and password provided to you when you completed onboarding forms) to connect your card machine to your account.

  3. Ensure the Environment is set to Production.

  4. Press ‘Login’.

  5. Logging in successfully will show a ‘Success 201’ message on the card machine.

Step 4: happy elephant

Once you have logged in successfully, you can return to the home screen and select the happy elephant on the top left of the machine. If your card machine is set up correctly, you should see a ‘Ready’ message implying that your card machine is connected and ready for use.
